ZITON is a market-leading provider of main component exchange services within offshore wind sector. The company is headquartered in Denmark, operating from the Baltic sea to the Irish sea. In addition to their primary business, ZITON supplies turbine technicians, yoke operators, and lifting equipment. As well as, provide strategic planning services to help reduce the costs associated with offshore wind farm maintenance.
For over 30 years, the company’s state-of-the-art fleet and expert technicians have helped their clients to lower operations and maintenance (O&M) costs of wind turbines above and below sea level.
Challenge
ZITON prides itself on having a “can do, will do” proactive approach to maintaining a standard of excellence in their field. Having all other business processes in digital, ZITON realized that they also needed to digitize process control checklists. This included having a reliable app that could be quickly and easily rolled-out to all technicians and field teams.
Some of the challenges the company faced included:
Risk of paper-based checklists being lost, damaged or affected by human error: Checklists at the company’s turbine blade repair facility were all paper-based. This increased the risk of human error in the paperwork, as well as the potential for illegible documents and soiled/damaged paperwork. The volume of paper used for the checklists was also a concern, along with the cost of printing.
